A Message from the CCCPEKD President – Welcome to the Fall Semester

Dear Colleagues,

ree

We hope you’ve been enjoying a great summer and finding some well-deserved time to rest and recharge. As we prepare for the new academic year, we’re looking forward to our upcoming Fall Professional Development Series and the opportunity to reconnect. These sessions are designed to offer ideas, support, and shared strategies as we continue working to ensure that kinesiology remains a valuable part of the community college experience.

As we enter the Fall semester, we know there are still many questions surrounding the implementation of CalGETC. Some colleges have had time to prepare and may feel more ready for this transition. Others may just be starting the process. No matter where you are, you're not alone—we’re all in this together.

This is an opportunity to reimagine how we support our students and promote the value of what we do. Whether it's developing new curriculum, exploring certificate or CTE pathways, finding creative ways to reach students, or refining how we present our programs, there are many ways to strengthen kinesiology on each of our campuses.

We hope the ideas shared in our PD sessions will inspire solutions that work in your unique environment. While there may not be one right answer for everyone, we believe that through collaboration and open conversation, we can all move forward with more confidence.

We look forward to learning, sharing, and growing together this Fall.

Warmly,

Jennifer Tanaka-Hoshijo, MS, MA

CCCPEKD President
