CCCPEKD Student Award Nominations

Student Awards

The CCCPEKD Student Awards aim to recognize outstanding achievements and leadership in the field of Kinesiology and Dance. Four scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to deserving students in the North and South regions for both Kinesiology and Dance disciplines.

  • Kinesiology Student of the Year (North) 

  • Kinesiology Student of the Year (South)

  • Dance Student of the Year (North)

  • Dance Student of the Year (South)


Student Award Categories:

There will be a total of 4 winners: One student from the North and one student from the South will be selected for each of the awards below.

  • Kinesiology Student of the Year: This award honors a Kinesiology student who has demonstrated exceptional academic performance, leadership, and service within the field.

  • Dance Student of the Year:  Celebrating a Dance student who has shown excellence in both academic and artistic pursuits, contributing significantly to the field of Dance.


Award Information:

Candidates for the CCCPEKD Student Awards must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Sophomore status ready for transfer

  • Outstanding leadership or service as a student, in college or community activities related to the field of Kinesiology or Physical Education.


Required Information:

  1. Award Nomination Application Form: Completed by a 2023-2024 CCCPEKD Member. (Membership Directory)

  2. Student Educational Statement: Clearly articulating current, short term, and long term educational and career goals. 

  3. Student Personal Statement: Providing additional information about yourself, your story, why you believe you would be a worthy recipient of this award, financial situation, extracurricular involvement, leadership experiences, challenges, and aspirations.


Application Instructions: 
Complete the application and be sure each question is answered. Complete nominations must be submitted by Monday, March 25th at 11:59pm. No late nominations will be accepted.


Recommendation: Type your statements in a word document, ensuring they are free of grammatical errors, and paste them onto the application website.


Personal Statement:

This section allows you to share your unique story, why you believe you would be a worthy recipient of this award, financial situation, extracurricular involvement, leadership experiences, challenges, and aspirations. Ensure you meet the minimum word count of 200 words and a maximum of 450 words to provide sufficient detail.
